It’s been a good week for Square Enix and its mobile titles, with its two latest offerings — Glorious Blades and Rise of Mana — reaching 100K downloads and 500K downloads, respectively.
Glorious Blades is an RPG developed in collaboration with gloops and overseen by producer Takashi Tokita, whose credits include the SNES-era fan favorite Chrono Trigger. Art direction was overseen by Toshiyuki Itahana, who has provided art and character designs for some of the more recent Final Fantasy titles.
Glorious Blades was released through DeNA’s Mobage platform on March 4th, reaching the 100K downloads mark in just eight days.
Rise of Mana is the latest title in Square Enix’s venerated Mana series, which stretches back to the Game Boy era. You can check out our initial impressions. We found Rise of Mana to be a well-presented title that deftly manages the expectations of mobile gamers and series’ fans alike.
Rise of Mana was released for iOS on March 6th, gathering 500K downloads in only six days.
